I have a 27.5 gallon (126l) tropical aquarium which contains live plants and some bog wood. There are two plecks, 13 guppies ( + about 8 baby guppies), 2 dwarf gouramis and 4 clown loaches. The last water change was 3 days ago when I changed about 40% of the water.
This morning I noticed that the clown loaches have white spots all over their bodies. Most of them are on their fins but I was some forming on the rest of their bodies too. They don't appear to be scratching themselves or doing anything out of the ordinary. The rest of the fish seem to be unaffected by the white spot (for now).
Could this be cause of the last water change? I usually switch off the filter and the heater for the 15mins it takes me to clean out the tank and replace the water. Also the water I put it is usally let to rest for a while so it's not completly cold but more room temperature.
Can someone tell me if this is in fact the white spot desease and if so why haven't the other fish got it? Can someone also tell me what is the best way to treat it.
Thank you!

OK, I seem to recall that Clown Loaches are particularly susceptible to white spots and also due to their lack of scales, caution is required in their treatment. Meaning that the normal treatment may affect the loaches negatively. I can't remember the details.
Do a search on the web for "clown loach white spots" and "clown loach ich".
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
