Just bought a A. Macmesteri but no sure whether male or female. Kindly help id for me at your earliest convenience bcos can exchange if wrong sex.

Simon, the one I bought looked very much like the female in your pic when it was in the shop. Colour really came out when settled in my tank. The guy in the shop was very sure that the fish is a female but I wasn't so I asked for an exchange if wrong.

from the markings on the shoulder and the extension at the dorsal and caudal fin.. it does look like a male, who chosen for u? joey?
