Woo hoo. Just bought my 1st arowana. It's a No. 1 Super Red from Qian Hu. Just fed it and I'm quite surprised that it takes frozen blood worms readily

Ya I still am. But there was a good buy at Qian Hu yesterday.
They were selling off No1 reds at $500 per pc. No cert, but tagged already.
However, all the fish has some defects of some sort. Be it lost scales, torn fins etc. There are more serious problems like bloated stomachs, swim bladder problems.
The reason that they do not have certs is because QH doesn't want the buyer to resell the fish.
So I took a gamble and bought the 3rd last fish. This is the last fish that swims normally. The last 2 fishes had obvious swim bladder problems, but they were also snapped up right after I bought mine.
Looks like I have to hurry up to get my planted tank up...and I haven't even ordered the tank!!

I've noticed that my aro also has an enlarged swim bladder that you can see in the 2nd pic.
I've put in some salt to see if it helps. But the fish swims normally and has a good appetite and poops normally

you have to watch your water quality closer for now
Today, after feeding a couple of feeders, the stomach seems a little better. I'm hoping that it'll look normal as it fattens up
