Hey guys, since plants have their on and off seasons of blooms, i've decided to dedicate this thread to showcase your various plants in the vivarium or those you have around the house.

Let me kick start this thread with this baby of mine,.. my little dark "evil" preciousss... which has been with me for over 1 1/2 years now. This is the 6th time it's come in bloom.

Here's a full shot of my dark "evil" plant,.. the Tacca or as commonly known the "Bat Lily".

Here's a close-up on the emerging flower "hood" in which holds the individual flower pods.

Flower pods still firmly closed. Just still 2 days into blooming.

and.. voila... the pods are open....

Last but not least, the majestic Bat Lily with its signature long white tendrils and its two flaps ontop hence the nickname.

    Regards,
    Phillipe.

Thanks, for bromeliads, the trick is to slowly adapt it to full sunlight from a shady location to enhance its colours. After the bromeliad blooms, all its energy is wasted into blooming its flowers and the colours will fade to either a lighter or darker green. The 'mother' plant now will have offshoots at the sides in a couple of weeks or depending on the light given to a few months. It'll slowly revert back to its original colour when you give it at least a minimum of 4hours of sunlight.

Also, as they're mainly epiphytic, they may not show so strong colours if remain potted.

Fortnightly dosing of very weak fertilizer will ensure new and stronger growth of offshoots.

Just to add, once the bromeliad has bloomed, for those with spikes, it's advisable to cut away the spike from the base to encourage new offshoot growth.

    Regards,
    Phillipe.

A view from my bedroom on a rainy day, variegated bougainvilla in bloom during this rainy season.

Laundry time amongst the greens anyone?

One of my miniature dendrobiums in bloom now in one of the vivariums.

Waited like 6 months for this baby to spike and bloom.

And this one is a prolific bloomer belonging to one of my Calatheas collection.

    Regards,
    Phillipe.

Thanks mate. Sometimes i do occasionally read a book during rainy days on the balcony. Speaking of which, here's a sneak peek into the revamped balcony of mine.

Thanks guys for the comments, i hope to see more of the "lil gardens" that ya guys might have though.

I'm trying NOT to add more plants to the balcony, although the tempation is so HIGH!! A few more orchids and bromeliads, and my place will become like one of those "EDEN BIOSPHERE" they have over in the UK!!!

    Regards,
    Phillipe.

I think it's been a damn long time since my last posts of the blooms. As the hot weather picks up in the recent months, most of my orchid collection have been on a spiking overdrive.

Here's 2 of the many of which are in bloom right now.

Right in the corner receiving the late afternoon sun.

With the sun rays dancing on the fragile petals of the orchids....

.......late afternoons will never be the same again........

One of all my time favourite Paphs...

.......more pictures of orchids and hoyas in bloom to follow....

    Regards,
    Phillipe.

Haha!! I'm sure anyone could have green fingers if they want to!! Too bad these pictures will be just memories as i'm shifting soon in a month plus time.

Anyway, to add a few more teasers from my orchids blooming overdrive!!

One of my cool growing pampered ones now residing in the fish room under temps of 22degrees average.

.....and here comes one of my all time favourites, Plumeria 'Bridal Bouquet'
