1st pic: Left - Should be Myriophyllum dicoccum, Right - Vallisneria americana var. or V.spiralis

2nd pic: Lobelia cardinalis (emersed, will change to green submersed form)

    3rd pic: Echinodorus tenellus
    Read me! http://justikanz.blogspot.com/

    I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii

Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

The "carpet grass" which you bought is the emersed version of the ones you already have in your tank. IN your 2nd picture where you have the emersed Lobelia, the background plants are the submersed version of the E. tenullus.

gees... u meant the carpet grass is e.tenellus again? haiz... because my tenellus grew tall, that's why shifted them to the back, now it's tenellus again thought they are really short in heights.

Plants grow tall because they lack light. So just trim and increase your lights. I believe a slight blue tint will cause them to grow low and dense while red will make them grow taller and thinner. So get a 7000 - 9000K bulb

Type "plants light temperature kelvin" in yahoo or google
It also gives you some interesting ideas like having 1 blue and 1 red light instead of 1 "white" one.

EDIT: Here it is. Mods, sticky it if y'all feel it's useful

That's what I am using now. One slightly bluer tube (10000k) and one slightly redder tube (6500K). I like the effect...
