Your "JD" looks more like a Texas to me, the unknown fish looks to belongs to the Tilapia species..... not certain 'bout the BB though.

I may be wrong... so don't take my word for it. Maybe other members can be of better help. =)

hk, I believe that most of the old timers know already, just keep quiet only. Anyway, this is a fun thread so I won't flame you (maybe next time ), just hope that you can soon provide those wonderful fish w/ a bigger & better environment that they deserve... otherwise, it'll be hard for them to grow to their full potential. Cramped quarters lead to stress & eventually ill health... you know the story.

Late already, it's time for me to zzzzZZZZZ

pardon my asking, but what are you planning to do with the redtail cat and shovelnose when (or if) they reach maturity? Dump them in the reservoirs I hope not.

I dun think that's advisable though. Floods, underwater tunnels, drainage systems etc all can allow the fish to enter other habitats. I appreciate your zeal, esp with regards to pure cichlids and the luohan mentality, but it wouldn't hurt not to adopt the 'aiyah, do this or that also neber mind one lar' thinking of the 'u know whos'. Personally, I like jumbo fishes too, but it hurts to see them in nothing less than a jumbo tank or hear that they are dumped for lack of space.

    >>seriously the pond is comparable to the one in the farms.

    mrs budak is very serious.

Floods happen. And we hear of fish that can "walk." And ponds "leak" and inter-connect where man can't see.

mrs budak knows; she was a geography student.

mrs budak is, quite frankly, mildly appalled.
Another quality, non aquatic-related post from mrs budak!
