The grass in my low tech 1ft cube is getting rather tall and unsightly as a foreground plant. I was wondering if I could snip the tenellus at the leaves like hairgrass. Will it become asthetically unpleasing to the eye permanently? Will the cut leaves die? I would prefer not to uproot the whole lawn and start over as I'm kind of lazy. Furthermore the tank is pretty underfiltered with a tiny hang on and populated by shrimps and otos only. No telling what the amount of mulm stirred up will do the them.

I have a similar problem. Normally I just pull them out by the roots. Never tried cutting them, if you cut them, either new leaves would just grow out, or the root would die. Not good.

And I've killed my shrimp population once or twice with my rescapings and trimmings. Tip, use seachem prime to absorb the ammonia that is stirred up.
