    Yes, you can.

Keep the tank in a airy and cool location, they don't do well with high temperatures.

    What do you feed them?

I just set up the tank...

Can 3cm yamatos leave with them cause if the food are caught between the substrate at least they can reach in...

Just asking but will it be ok if i don't put a filter or an air stone inside but ill change the water every 5 days....

~Edited~ Please note that under AVA guidelines, it is illegal to buy and sell firebelly newts (or any other newts, for that matter). AQ do not encourage the discussions on pricing and sales of these animals. Please refer to AVA website for more details on the animals allowed to be kept as pets in Singapore. Thanks!

Don't think yamatos are safe with them, they will go for fish also.

I've kept them with yamato shrimps before. And Otocinculus affinis. But then it was a 100cmx45cm tank with about 10cm of water, and lots of plants. Both shrimp and fish are very agile, so are hard to catch. My newts ignored them

There IS a risk, not just to the fishes, but also the newts. There are many sharp edges and barbs on both the Otos and the shrimp. Any newt swallowing them risk getting punctured guts.

My observation though... CFBs tend to favour much smaller creatures like worms and brineshrimp.

I've read a story of a paddeltail newt eat the claw a small crayfish.

No worries, jljx. We just want to keep the discussion threads clean so that members, both old and new can easily find information. If we allow solicitation, the threads will soon go amuck.

Raeburter and Darrenimo, we also try to keep chit chat down to a manageble minimum for the same reasons.

    Thanks.
