Wao! First time I have seen that! Looks like somekind of parasites to me but cannot find any information regarding that!

This only happen in my second tank where I am using the clip-on type of filtration which I feel is really bad.

It started to appearing attaching itself across various places in my tank. Tenticles like coral which is only about 0.5cm max!

If you looked closely, it really looked like those corals of those in the marine.

    Anyone can enlighten me?

    these are freshwater hydra
they sting small fish (such as fry) and eat them
they pose no danger to bigger fish, and some fish are reputed to eat them
iirc, the dwarf croaking gourami does
some people use meds like clout to eradicate them
    others say salt helps
i dunno, because i've never seen these in my tank, maybe because i keep a lot of dwarf croaking gourami [:]

No ... This tank is one where I keep most of my guppies fries. I had about 40-50 fries that time with only 3 adult guppies. Thought with really tiny weeny fish, I do not really need to change water that often and with that poor filtration resulting from my clip-on filter, suddenly I realised those stuffs!

I had do quiet a thorough cleanup and it should be alright now.

You know, when I saw your second pic, I thought I saw a snake in your tank in the background. Looks like one eh? The colour and all, then realised its just net over a rock.
