Is there any algae eating fish that does not grow big (<2inch long) and also save for planted tank?

    Will oto grow big?

There is the tiger oto (no scientific name of yet), but you will have to wait till early next year to get it, I don't think any kid in South America is going to skip Christmas to swim in a flooded river.

Errr... you could just get the normal Otocinculus. About an inch max. They scrape flat algae off surfaces.

For algae that are not flat, like hair algae, get yamato shrimp.

The typical algae crew for a planted tank is Yamato shrimp, otos and SAEs.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

I read somewhere that tiger oto is much more difficult to take care of compared to the normal one. Is that true?

Different algae eaters eats different type of algae. What type do you have in your tank that you need attention on? If it's just brown algae, then Otocinclus sp. will do just fine. Maxiumum size of 5 cm on the average, depending on species. They can be quite hardy if your water condition is stable.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

will Chery shimps eat brown algae or green algae sticking on the glass?
