    Hi!

Is there any benefit of switching off the lights in between say for a period of 2-3 hrs w.r.t. keeping alage off? If not, then is it disadvantageous to the plants if I switch off the lights in between say for a period of 3 hrs or so?

Thanks in adavnce for inputs from experts.
    Regards,
    Saugata Banerjee

mixed results; some aquarist do report benefits while there are other who don't.
the general concensus; ignore the algae and concentrate on your plants. if your plants are growing well, algae will go away.

I have tried it previously, but algae was still a problem. No visible advantage for me.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
