Singapore is a small market, it is important for hobbyists and LFSs to develop a friendly or neutral relationship to keep this hobby going. If a LFS is not up to mark, you can still feel at ease walking into his shop with your membership T-shirt when you didn't publish his negative business records openly.
Hmmm... good idea. The review section can be changed to a "Recommended" rating. Instead of a ratings on a negative to postive scale, we restrict it to a single 'This LFS is recommended by X members'. Perhaps, some tick boxes to indicate their plus points like:
    [ ] Value for money
    [ ] Good service
    [ ] Knowledgable
    [ ] Well stocked
    [ ] Quality fauna
    [ ] Quality flora

The lack of recommendation need not equate 'bad' and simply mean 'can do better'.

    Excellent idea, Blim!!!
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

This is a test run of your rating system. My feedback on AQ -

[x ] Value for money (if time spent in AQ equates money)
[x ] Good service (responsive to the old and new members)
    [x ] Knowledgable (yes, yes)
[x ] Well stocked (of information)
    [x ] Quality fauna (discussion)
    [x ] Quality flora (discussion)

Keep it up AQ, I think you set a benchmark.

Wouldn't putting at least your handle be better? Gives more credibility and integrity to what ever that is posted?

Else there may be a chance of flaming going on for shops.

The rating will be structured. Given the latest 'positive or no rating' version suggested in the last few posts, the rater can only tick or (leave) untick a criteria. They will not have a chance to type any words.

Originally we had wanted it to be anonymous because we allowed a scale of 'horrible' to 'excellent'.

However, if we go with the newly suggested version, then leaving a name is more viable.

    Any space for user comment?
We would be able to give suggestions for improvement?

Hi valice, in reply to your question, well, I feel that the rating system should be inclined more towards LFSs as hobbyist selling their personal items are just a one off deal.
    I won't if I can't, but I can so I'll mix...
