    Are these fissiden? got them in emmersed form nearby pool of water in Similajau, Bintulu

    Those are terrestrial moss if I am not wrong.

    would the moss just die off if you put terrestrial moss in submersged water?

    Wouldn't you be just killing them off?

    So far they are still surviving but not propagating.

    As far as I know, some mosses (including Fissidens) found in this region are aquatic or semi-aquatic. Cwtan12: perhaps if you take a macro shot, some folks here might be able to identify it. Or perhaps you can send a sample to Kwek Leong (timebomb).
