    Why are we being secretive?

For the record, Benny split this out from a VERY long and old introductions thread. Hence the very old date.

Anyways, I started the aquarium hobby just shortly before AQ was formed in late December 2001. Actually it was a restart. I had been interested in animals and aquariums since young due to my father's influence. However, due to school work and other teenage stuff when I started secondary school, I let go of the hobby. It was later, at one of my jobs that the interest was reignited by fishy collegues. That was when planted tanks started getting popular and more accessible. More accessible in the sense that it was easy to get planted tank specific fertilisers and equipment like Co2 canisters, regulators and solenoids.

Not long after that, I got married and got my own home. That allowed me to incorporate fish tanks into my new home design. I started my home with a total of two 100cmx45cmx45cm and one 90cmx45cmx45cm tanks. A few months later I added a 180cmx60cmx60cm planted arowana tank.

Around that time, the then AQ team invited me to be a moderator. It was not long after that I realised it was enslavement! After some years of slaving and butt kissing, I now am one of the slave-drivers. MUHAHAHAHA!!!

Unfortunately, recent personal events have forced me to give up my tanks. But fear not, the force is still strong in me and I will re-enter the hobby... hopefully before the end 2007.

I am still dreaming of a gigantic planted arowana tank. Whether that comes true or not, we'll see over the years. If not, I hope someone discovers a dwarf arowana species.

No secret here. I was just tidying up the threads and might as well split out some of the introduction of the more familiar faces.

Anyway, if there was ever a dwarf arowana species, I doubt it will be popular. Most arowana folks like the big.

So...let's do Simon's tank, then we do your tank. Yes?

worst, someone might go and make one!
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Choy, That's why I said 'discover'.

Benny, Don't be surprised if there is demand. There are many arowana fans who can't get large tank permits from HDB - their 'Home Decisions Boss'.

Ohhh, thanks for the offer to do my tank, but big tanks are nowhere in my near future, unless I strike lottery. Then maybe my 'HDB' will be happy enough to indulge me.
