    Hi,

Can anyone let me know what's the main difference between A. Nijsseni and A. Panduro, for both males and females? They look very similar and some LFS often classify them as Nijsenni. Pictures or web site on difference and detailed info would be most appreciated, thanks.

Pandurini males haven blueish stomach area thru to the start of the tail.

The difference btw a nij and pandu females is very obvious. For nij female they will have five black spot markings on the body. If i remember correctly, the spots are located at the face, anterior dorsal, ventral fin, caudal spot, and lastly the middle of the body.

THe pandu female will have only lesser spots which is often only one on the middle of the body.

for nij males they are relatively smaller in head area and size but when two species of same size and colouration it's really difficult for me even to tell them apart.
    Cheers!

I have a pair of Nijsenni:

Not sure if I am correct: the Pandurini male has a reddish ring at the rim of the tail instead of yellow (as in Nijsenni male).

Check out these Pandurini photos at TheKrib.com for comparison.

Ben: You have any success at breeding Nijsenni or Pandurini?

Hi Bene, the picture you've just posted is a Pandurini? PS sells them as Nijsenni. I'll try to take some photos of my Nij/Pan, post it here and hopefully can get some Ans on it's ID, thanks.

When down to SY today to view the fishes. Saw diplo, but no eli. The gibbicep looks like Cruzi yellow instead. Saw the Tri in the main 12ft tank, the tri only has redish tone on the top of the dorsal while mine is a full lenght red dorsal.

Theirs are already considered big while mine is still small still got room of improvement.
    Cheers!
