so you got your EF100/2.8 macro? with hood? don't forget to check the filter if any comes with it. make sure it doesn't have a colour cast like those Skylights.

Skylight is pink. Adds nice color to the fishies.

I just replaced mine with B+W UV Haze. The Skylight goes onto the 50/1.4 which is luckily also 58mm thread

I think better have a filter, I can't afford a new lens unlike loaded chappy who can always use his 180/2.8L if his 100/2.8 is out of commission

I would love to have a 180/2.8L!!! Custom built? Ok. Ok. I better keep my trap shut before I set myself up for further embarassment.

I only advocate using macro lenses filterless at home when shooting fishes.

Good to hear that your lens is not damaged. Show us some pictures of Taiwan soon. Especially of the fishy attractions!

The Tamron 90mm is a superb lens on a budget...
    Just sold mine though...

Choy, is the hood really that important for the 100mm?

I always uses it. I think it is useful especially for us as it shields unwanted light from reaching the tank glass in front of your lens particularly when you are very close. It also help prevent you from physically hitting your lens against the glass.
