NEVER in the world of chicken rice sellers will goldfish do well in planted. But never is quite strong though. Its something I have yet to hear anyone saying its good and liking it.
Aesthetics wise, you got make the tank pretty drab, perhaps a monotone green and one or two type of plants. Goldfishes are large, slow moving in waggy styles.
Their attitudes towards plants.... well... I guess you got to stick with big plants that like to have their roots go really deep, and plants that will cover up the large waste the fish produces.
In my own view, goldfishes, like carp do well in greyish drab ponds where their colours stand out.
