    Are they newly planted?
If so, make sure they are not blocked by other plants above. In my tanks, they seem to start weakening when lack of light.

If they are new, can let some float on the water surface for a few days to a week before planting. Just to let them get more light and get used to the tank conditions.

Since they are rotting, try increase everything CO2, lights and dose 3 times weekly. I may be wrong but no harm trying and see if it better after that.

Hi Eddyq, doesn't seems to be working. It has been more than 1 week since I try to increase everything, but blyxa still melting. I can see holes on some of the leave. Does it mean lack of nutrient or is it eaten by snails?

    increase CO2 from 1bps to 3bps
increase dosing from once a week to twice a week
    add another 55W light

Since they are melting, I would remove them and buy another batch hopefully healthier ones. The blyxa I had are grown on ADA Amazonia, no problem. Make sure the roots are holding and not hanging.

I had this plants in ADA soil, it grew very very well. Make sure you have plenty of lights. It was the only plants that supported all my full lights without getting any algae. It was under 150 watts MH + PL lights 55watts. It grew so much in 1 months time that it overtook the whole tank.

So give it plenty of lights. Of course, up your CO2.

OK, I give up with this plant. After a week of increassing everything and it still melting away altough other plants are growing like crazy.

Maybe because it is under shade by other plant, after they grow like crazy .

Will try to replace it with downoi, hope I got better luck with this plant

I grew my blyxa with just lapis gravel with a fert regime following E.I. The blyxa grew really plump & well and even propagated.

    Used 8 x T5 HO lighting. (each @ 55w)

Hi Shadow, just to share with U. I faced the same problem with you when I introduced the blyxa japonica into my tank. Holes start to appear on the leaf after about 3 weeks. Back then I am only using Lushgro liquid fert for my tank.
But things got back to track when I start using E.I fert regim. now the blyxa is growing really well and green. Hope this may give U some help if U are trying this plant again.
BTW, I am using just Lapis gravel only.
    Tank : 4x2x2
    CO2 : 4bps
    Light : T5 HO 54wx6 , 8 hours daily.

I think I got exactly the same problem as yours, holes appear and then all melted away. What fert are you using now?

I once had melting problem too, the melting stops after i crank up the CO2.

I have trim the ball about 5 weeks ago, you cannot imagine how much i have to discard. will post a pic of the trimmed plants.

My CO2 is 3bps for 60L tank on DIY external reactor, no buble coming out from the rain bar so I assume all disolved. I think 3bps for 60L is quite a lots

    love your blyxa ball

I am using the power form of Lushgro fertilizer.

    weekly dosing schedule:
    3xKNO3
    3xK2SO4
    3xKH2SO4
    3xSeachem Florish
    50% WC weekly

I have initially intend to solve the problem for my APP which also start to melt togather with the bylex.
with the E.I method, I solved both the problem using 1 single solution.
