I have bought some Java Moss and tie to a drift wood but, it is not growing at all. Now, it is getting lesser. Only those that are nearer to the water surface grow a little. Other plant like japonica are growing very well. However, my java fern do not seem to grow well too. What could be the problem? Please enligten and thanks.

It has been about 6th mths already. No bubbling....My light is 4x36w PL having 10k and my tank size is 4x2x2 ft. But, you may say the light intensity is not enough and I somehow agree. However, why the japonica is growing well? I am confuse...please enlighten. Thanks.

Ok, maybe I give a little more details

    1)Using Dennerle Gold 7 and E15 only.
    2)4x2x2 ft tank
    3)4 x 36w 10k PL light and on for only 8 hrs
4)Water a little yellowish due to the due drift wood I think.
5)Temperature about 27 to 28 degrees using AC Fan to control.
6)Got the Java moss from Ah Peh 6 mths ago.
    7)Ph should be around 6.8

Please advise where has gone wrong. Thanks again.

java moss doesn't need strong light to grow
i'd suspect that either something is nibbling on them, or they're under a 'hot-spot', or else that your water simply isn't right for them
you might want to try retying them
ime java moss is very accomodating
even after it turns white, it'll still put out new shoots of green if left alone
some dennerle pflanzengold 7 might resurrect them
in any event, just have patience
java moss and java fern aren't fast growers, and they are nigh-impossible to kill off

Thanks...I think my SAE like to "nib' on them. Anyway, just got another batch from a friend. They had been growing well in his tank. I just submerse them in water and leave it on the drift wood. See if it work out fine this time.
