Hi Grey_fox, so where will you purchase all the above-mentioned stuffs?
I hope things will turn out the way how I will want it to look. I'm prepared for hiccups along the way though

Hi Grey_fox, so where will you purchase all the above-mentioned stuffs?
Aquascaping = Physics + Chemistry + Art.
HC in such a big tank! You will need Tiger Balm after your rescape
I'm looking forward to how you convert it back to high-tech, since I will be having the same plans after I complete my NS, especially for the algae management part.
Are you going to remove the black background?

Hey Terence,
all prepared to suffer from a major back/neck/muscle ache after the rescape.
I'm doing a major overhaul but I'll be keeping the various crypts that I have and some of the windelov/java/narrow/tropica ferns as well. Those that can be salvaged I will be posting it up here F.O.C, condition isn't too good as before due to the lack of any form of fertilization in the water column during the busy period with the wedding.
I'll post my overhaul probably on Saturday morning after I recover from the back-breaking work.
Hehe, you read my mind, I was actually contemplating on removing the black paper, however, it'll be too heavy to attempt to shift the tank out so I would probably end up leaving it there.
I'll eyeball the condition of the tank thereafter and will make sure those H.C thrive.
P/S: Fei Miao's HC is really really well grown.

After 12 hours of work. The tank is rescaped, not exactly how I would like it to turn out.
I'll post a photo up once the water clears up a bit.

Well, not exactly what I was planning how the scape will look like. Water is still a little cloudy.
Sorry for the poor photo quality, taken with my P990i.

Looking very good...
Believe it should come good when it stablises.
I see cories in your tank... There might be a chance that your HC might be dug up by them...
Hey Vincent,
Yeah only 2 cories in the tank, hopefully they won't dig up the HC. Had a really hard time planting those. *points to lower back*

Thanks for sharing your new scape with all the 'works' and planning into it. Nice and fresh, quite spacious to show off the discuses. I love to see those branchy ADA driftwoods in there, I know it costly, saw it there (sera centre).
Hey eddyq, thanks for your kind words, yeah a little more spacious now. Just have to wait for things to grow-in.

it sure looking good. can't wait for the HC to cover the entire forground, very sure it's going to turn out to be a masterpiece. Keep us updated bro!
Fatherhood - The most challenging role a man can take on but, funnily enough, the most fulfilling too.
Hey kemp,
Thanks Now i've to wait for the tank to mature more, going to eyeball the condition as well.
Here's two more photos with the lights dimmed down to 2 T5 HOs only.

Update:
Water has cleared up significantly. The H.C is starting to spread slowly and the mosses (peacock & taiwan) are growing new fronds.
The majority of the crypts are melting but has thus far stopped.
I'll re-post a photo soon.

Looking good, I like the wood placement.
...I love rubies too ...
Ken
Hey Ken,
Thanks. Waiting for the H.C to grow in.

6 days after rescape. Water has cleared up significantly, adding more photos of tank and some shots I managed to take with my P990i

Just when the H.C was starting to spread, I caught the shoal of red nose nibbling on the H.C...
That was what they previously did to my downoi lawn too.
Latest photo.
Everything is growing well.. except for the once-spreading H.C lawn. Going to leave it in for a while until I think of the next steps to take.

hi Grey_fox,
Very nice setup ....cant wait to see the HC cover the whole of your foreground.
Just curious that will you be adding some taller plants behind?
Aquascaping = Physics + Chemistry + Art.
Hi ronald,
At the moment, the chances of the H.C covering the foreground looks slim. My red nose is eating it all up.
As for the taller plants at the back, I'm leave it a bit blank first. What you see at the back-left side are balansaes I have from my previous scape.
I don't really like background plants, they tend to get too messy for my liking.
