You can try Cathay Photo at Peninsular Plaza or Marina Square. Alternatively here are a few other options.

MS Color at Ang Mo Kio
Alanphoto at Sim Lim Square/Funan Center

For used Tamron lenses. try the Camera Workshop and the likes at Peninsular Shopping Center/Adelphi etc. Or www.clubsnap.org.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Do check out the street price in Clubsnap first if you are getting from the shops in case they decided to inform you of some other price when you enquire.

But MS Colours is a honest and reliable shop to get lenses from.

Thanks Valice and megaweb. That leeds to another question. Does all tamron lenses fit Canon DSLR camera's? Should I buy a mount to fit in this?

    P.S: I've a Canon 400D.

    Cheers

When at the shop, tell the assistant you want Canon mount and that should do. Best is to bring down your camera down.

If doing fish photography, in fact, should invest in flash and a wireless transmitter (ST-E2) or off-board cord first instead of lenses...

The flash will eliminate all your lighting problems and give you good pictures even with your kit lens...

Flash is definitely top on the shopping list along with the lense. I'm restricted only to fish photography so I think a reasonable array of lens (es) (esp. for landscape, sports and also portraits) should help. I may be wrong, feel free to share your thoughts.

in general you need to cover the focal range, with specific prime lenses for particular photography type.

so for example you want a macro prime lens in the 90-105mm range for close ups. for portrait you need a large aperture prime, something like a 50mm ƒ/1.4, or 85mm ƒ/1.2, for the bokeh. for landscape you may need a wide to ultra-wide zoom, and this can become quite expensive on a 1.6× crop body.

beyond that you want a good walk about lens that will cover you from 28 to 135mm, and then specific long telephotos.
