Slightly higher K do no harm. If purity is very low, compensate accordingly. If it is like 98%, it doesn't really matter.
What plants of which the leave edges are turning black? Hygrophilla?

For those of you who has tried this. How do you prepare the solution? Can I use the calculator given in this web site?

Will the purity of the chemical affect the calculation? Also if there is over dosage of potassium, what are the signs?
Some of my plants' leaves are slightly holey/transparent. I hope they can heal with the addition of potassium. There are also some with edges turning black, i dont know if they are dying out or attacked by algae?
Any comments are appreciated. Thks.

I think those leaves with holes would not heal anymore. The addition of K will prevent new leaves from getting holes.
