Anyone has the above scenario? I have cories in a tank with hungry Yamatos that always snatch the wafers I put it for the poor cute buggers.

Is there a food that I can feed them that my Yamatos won't snatch?

Anything that the Corydoras eat, the shrimps will also eat. Both are scavengers. Larger Yamato shirmps may horde the wafers if they can carry it off and very often they do.

You can consider breaking up the wafer in to smaller bits before feeding. At any one time, the shrimps can only hold on to one small bit. Alternative diet will include sinking pellets too. They are already size conveniently for you to use.

Frozen blood worms are also good alternatives, but watch the nitrate build up.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

    Hi,

I give my bottom feeders Tropical Welsi Gran. These are in granular form, so you can spread out the food distribution.

They will take flakes as well, so surely there will be enough spreadings for both cories and shrimps.

Wow, Terence, when I saw the title of your thread I thought you are feeding your cories with yamato shrimps!!

Anyway what I did is the common way, spread the food bits throughout the tank so that everyone gets a chance. Yamatos tend to eat slower, at least from my observation so once the yamatos get something in their hands the cories can also scour around for the food.

    Thanks guys,

I took your suggestions and I broke up peices of wafers and scattered them around the tank. As you guys have said, the Yamatos and cories both have enough to eat. It was just a matter of providing extra food.
