    Hi lsz,

Actually I am asking on behalf of a friend, the same one that was looking for the Neolamprologus Leleupi. A real hardcore cichlid fan.

If you have some to spare, I'll let him know.

BTW, how big is the fish ?

    hi lsz,
I have always been interested in getting a festae but just not sure how aggressive they can be. At the moment, I have a 4 ft tank of CAs, juveniles and semi-adults. Anychance the festae will create havoc?
    Cheers!

Depending on what kind of CA cichlids you have, your CAs' will have to be able to defend themselves well.

My two GTs' which are bigger than the RTs' got some of their tail fins snipped but yet my female texas who is of the same size wins hands down.

sting sorry for the late reply

    ezion mentioned species

another factor i will like to bring up is the tank setting..
do you fish already have fixed territory or are they all swimming ard in one big mess ?

if the former, you have have a little more trouble because the fish inside already have an awareness and they kind of sorted out some pecking order (for the time being). so any new addition will be quite conspicous. No doubt you can provide hiding space, but if the fish is made to hide very often, it is stressful and the fish cannot grow well too..

but if your tank is crowded, and there are no distinct lines of territory, you can just mix them in. I mixed 3" red terror with 9" midas in a tank at my place..

but if you want your fish to grow to a good size, esp for CA, eventually they need their own space....this one cannot run. have to face it..

so a 4ft can house them for now, and even if they get along, in the future either they will be stunted at ard 6" plus or some guy will emerge to dominate the tank....you will see something like one guy in the middle and the rest are all at the surface at both ends...you should have seen something like that before haha

so it is pretty dynamic you have to be prepared for changes

esp when talking abt potentially big fish in a not so big tank
