    hi Valice,
yep, I was a software developer previously (and so are you, I noticed).
basically I am a once-upon-a-time planted tank enthusiast who has lost the zeal due to work and other life demands and my tank has run down badly....not sure i can pick up again but pictures of nature planted aquaria never fail to impress me 8-)

guess that summarizes me for now.... 8-O

Yes you can. It all depends on your setup and your choice of plants. Plants like crypts, criniums, nanas, ferns, echis are easy and almost maintanence free.

    hi Bryan,
ok noted thanks. I tried various crypts previously but somehow even they also wither away after some weeks.

Achieving a lush planted world is always a fine balancing act, involving many parameters and the science and chemistry etc.

Makes us appreciate how delicate and precious our forests are .......

    Hi Compass,

i can sort of understand the kind of schedules you have... i do web-development (mostly back-end) on the side and some software programming when i've got the time just for fun, or to help ease the needs for some of my friends running on Windows (urgh)...

it's probably no where as hectic as what you're going through, but i can appreciate the amount of time that can be spent in a single project... that's why i keep low-tech planted tank beside my work area...

it really relaxes me when i get tired of looking at code... my girlfriend also says that i'm less grumpy because of that too... lol

You might want to check with the pros in here but i feel that running a tank without CO2 makes things alot slower and more manageable...

    Hi chup wai,

I hope you are not here just to use our marketplace services. I can't helped but noticed that immediately after your 10th posts, all other posts are to sell things. I hope I'm wrong.

In any case, welcome to Aquatic Quotient and do tell us how you chance upon our little site.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
