Very simple.............very nice.............very peaceful
Hope you have a great day
I have always enjoying looking at everyone's tank, especially the low tech ones. Hence, I would also like to contribute to the community by showing my tank and the experts here might be able to give me an advice or two.
This is a really simple tank. It has been around for 3 months. The carpet I kinda chose Spiky Moss. As for the tree-thingy, I have chosen Christmoss Moss. A lot of which are given or bought at a low price from the fellow bros in this forum.
I dose Flourish Excel every other day (or when I feel like dosing). I have 30 neon tetras, 4 electric blue rams, 4 otos, and 1 Beaufortia kweichowensis (commonly know as Chinese Sucker Fish).
The left tree is still quite new. So you can see the thread that I used to tie the moss.
The only problem I am facing is that there are quite a number of spot algae. It makes it rather unsightly. But okie la, I do clean it once it awhile.

what's the temperature like? i see you using Aquazonic T5?
Advice from boss Felix
Looks very peaceful Nice to look at after a hard day's work
what type of light are you using?
Very nice pleasing setup. Easy to maintain and you don't need to disturb the fish too much during maintenance

Nice and peaceful tank...
Very nice. Did you tie the carpet on wire mesh or just let the moss sink?
Awesome carpet! One problem I've had trying to achieve a carpet like yours is that the moss on the lower side will start to turn yellow. Share your tips bro!

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you replied.
The temperature is about 28 degrees most of the time. But if I on my aircon, it usually goes down to about 22 degrees.
I am not sure if my light is T5. I actually bought it for about $20 from a bro here. Its dual tube. But I rarely on both at the same time.
I tie the moss onto the wired mesh actually. But for me, I tie them only smaller pieces of wired mesh. After what, its like a jigsaw puzzle game. I slowly fit all the little wired mesh to cover the base of my tank.
I am not very sure how mine doesn't turn yellow. Could it be because the nature of my moss is quite tolerant to low-light? I'm still observing it closely though. Any bros here has any tips to share with our friend here?
I bought a big wired mesh. And I cut them into smaller pieces. Like about 6cm by 6cm. After that, I tie the moss onto it. Then, I slowly fit all the smaller mesh onto the base to cover entirely. After that, I allowed it to grow slowly.
I would love to do it too. But the problem is, shrimps die too easily. I'm really quite amateur here. I used to keep some cherry before buying the electric blue ram. But whenver i did water change, I would see 4-5 deaths. Sometimes, I see a white piece of don't-know-what-thing in my shrimps' body and they usually die very quickly. Sad..
Simple and nice tank like it
The setup is nice but the fishes might be too many. No mind it make it look nice. now u can control the algae boom as you have low temperature with aircon. But in long run you might surrender to algae.
If possible reduce the fish population. The moss grow well. Keep it up and enjoy the nice scape.
Best Regards, TS

Nice setup. There are quite a number of fishes in the tank.
love your tree... especially the one on the right
agree with a few others here, would be lovely if it was a shrimp tank. perhaps too many fishes there... but hey, great start!
i used to have a moss carpet too with taiwan moss... problem is... need to trim trim trim as they grow rather fast.
Thanks everyone! I have decided to keep my fishes at this amount. I may try to reduce my fishes by giving some to my cousin.
Thanks for sharing. This might just fuel my interest to set up a moss tank!

Taken on 20th July... =)
I regret not getting a bigger tank this time round. I feel that my tank kinda lack the depth feeling. May consider buying a bigger one if my parents allow
