You can also buy live baby BBS from shops. I know C328 has them.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

The frozen BBS from Hikari are adult brine shrimps, not sure if it is suitable. A better bet would be frozen daphnia, which C328 carries as well.

I'm getting a bottle of these http://www.brineshrimpdirect.com/c1/GP-Diets-c11.html from one of the bros to try out on my fries, I'll update tonight if possible....

If these golden pearls can be taken by the fries, it will save a lot of time to hatch live bbs everyday which I'm doing now...

Eman, I'm very eager to hear your results. Right now, I'm getting live bbs from Thio and freeze them before feeding to the fries the next day.

I'll be collecting a bottle of GP 100microns later in the evening....the earliest I can get home tonight, feed and post an update is about 1am

so far, I only know this brother who has stock, many of the lfs do not bring it in....same goes for BSD brine shrimp eggs as well...

If this GP works for fries, we don't have to depend on live bbs!!!

The problem is not whether it will be able to fit into the fries' mouth, but whether they will swallow the food and not spit it out again, which is currently what's happening when I feed crushed TetraBits.

Even the First Bites given to me by you was not readily eaten.

    Results: Unsuccessful

Although this GP is small to fit the mouth of the fries, they were not interested as it is not moving!!! The moment I squirt some live bbs into the tank, they went straight for it without having to pause to look at it!!!

I guess, they would only go for moving "feeds"...not interested in dead stuff until they are old enough to take pellets.....but I will still try this GP everyday and see if I can wean them into it

Eman, I'm feeding frozen bbs everyday, the parent fish and their brood still go for it. I guess they are able to recognise its due to the smell even if bbs is dead.
My discus go for dry food (TetraBit Complete) because it has a so called bioactive ingredient (something that smells good) that probably attracts my discus.
You can do a simple experiment. Try mixing some frozen bbs with GP pellets to test my hypothesis.

Jason: i've tried live bbs with GP, the fries go straight for the bbs...

Jeffery: i'll pick up some from you sometime later.....its worth trying to wean fries to eating dry food, save all the hassle...

what's with your signature? what species are you breeding?

Jeffrey, don't be discouraged by a small setback. Just take your time to condition your fish and they will reward you handsomely.
I remembered changing a few things to improve the chance of my apisto spawning.
    a) Add many more plants and moss, more containers. I think this gives the fish more privacy to do their "business".
    b) Feed live food more frequently. I increased the brine shrimp feeding from once a month to once a week.
    Hope the above tips help.

yea i agree with jason, sometimes a small change will spike them to spawn

    - change water
    - lower ph
    - more plant mass
    - more pots and caves for choices
    - changing substrate
    - changing partner
    - having a trio and allow male to choose his mate
