you got use pincer or not? otherwise I think impossible to plant grass.

you just take a few stalks, crimp them in your pincer and shove it in the gravel around half-in down, pull your pincer out vertically so it does pull th plant out again. Suggest you do the parade square method, plant them in rows and column 1-2cm apart.

It's best to get a proper planting tweezer from LFS.
The household ones are not as good -- either not enough grip on the plants or it grip too hard and squashing the plant.
My stainless steel one cost about $18 the last time I got it.

    Hi Acid Fish

To add further to Juggler...the purpose-made pincers are also longer, so may help u reduce sleeve wetting (?!)

& like Choy said, u can plant them like padi fields for a start, but as soon as their runners begin spreading, u'll have quite a field...fr then on, u'd prob need to do occasional trimmings to maintain the height...

I got mine fr Teo's...they sell the emersed type tho'...

    All the best...

And also to prevent the "deodorant" from fouling your tank, if I may add.

btw.. me got a box full of Riccia (not sure if I spell it correctly)
it got loose from the net that tie together with a wood. now I thinking of putting them on the foreground under the gravel.. any idea how to hold them as they are very samll..[]

my friend suggest to use a plastic net, cramp them together and hide it under the sand.. but not sure is this the best way or not
