    found near Mersing, 3.5cm SL, beautiful orangey head. Looks like one of the Pangio based on the dorsal fin shape?

    it looks more like a lepidocephalus than a pangio, i have some guntea with a very similar body shape.

    turns out to be Lepidocephalichthys tomaculum, rather uncommon.

    yes, they are sacrificing themselves soon. actually I think they want to keep them for observation.
