Why is there stench from the water? There is something wrong if your water smell bad.
Regular water change cannot be substituted by any other means. If you really want good results, put in some effort. You will be delighted.

Agree with you bc and trust me, I am a strong advocate of water changes (the only exercise I get in a week). Just want to find out if there are other substitutes to charcoal. Cheers.
John, you big stud, []
what stench are you getting from your water? I doubt carbon or substitutes are solving the problem the correct way, if your get my meaning.
As far as I know the carbon substitutes do the same as carbon.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Yesiree I am ...
No stench from my tank, just trying to find out the effects of charcoal on water.
Just remember something from an old post about carbon. Apparently, if you keep the carbon in the water too long, the absorbed stuff leaches back into the water. Same thread also mentioned now to re-activate the carbon.
Why don't you search the forum?

Will do that. Thanks!
