    Spiff,
yes, but they dont actually do anything.
They find themselves a lair, and STAY there. Very rarely do they swim.
    My tank is 3ft.
The eel *can* get to 2ft, but very rarely does. Should that happen, it will go in a 4ft tank i have planned to set up 6 or 7 month away.

Spiff, the eels natural diet consists of shrimp and crabs!
And even if he didnt eat it, the dwarf lionfish would..
Good News! I just saw him eat! Very impressive!

yes.. it is hard to feed them in captivity.. thus i did not get them in the end.. read up on them and found that they have bad track records in captivity.... and in singapore, u are able to get blue ribbon as well as black ribbon (rarer)... []

Kelvin, ya, i saw the blue ones once at a fish store..very nice. Was only eating guppies though.
Another nice eel my lfs had in was called a Zebra Eel, was in with my guy. Very nice, but get bigger than snowflakes i believe...
Jus wondering, do you have a predator tank? Or are your fishes mixed together? If you do, wat is in the pred. tank, and wat size is it?
    Tks,
    James

yes.. they tends to feed only on live food

yes.. they can grow up to 8ft in the wild.. but in captivity.. probably half the size..
Jus wondering, do you have a predator tank? Or are your fishes mixed together? If you do, wat is in the pred. tank, and wat size is it?
i only have a mixed tank.. but without any predatory fishes such as eel or lionfish.. but used to keep lionfish b4.. thus the knowledge.. and the scar to go along with it.. hahaha...[]

i was cleaning the tank but apparently, it gave it a shock and it charged out of the cave and spread its "lances" and one of them slices my finger!!!.. so.. pls take care when cleaning the tank..

oh yes.. if u get "stung" by the lionfish, use vinegar... and wash it under lukewarm water...
