This is IMHO more like a fungus that will grow on untreated D/wood. I've had two pieces with the same problems before.
Not been able to cure it and I removed the wood from the tank.

I wish I have a pot big enough to put it in, the length is about 2ft++ and width about 1ft++...

I use the same method for my other smaller (a bit) bogwood and it doesn't give me this problem.

There's a good chance that the wood you are using is not fully "dead" yet and the growth is a result of the residual organic matter.

The traditional/natural way is to air cure the wood for the longest time. The quick and dirty way is to either boil or toast the wood. Either way, it's troublesome. Might be easier to get a new piece.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

I read somewhere they use bromine to treat driftwood.

Thanks benny for the info, I think mean while I just leave it in the tank and sifon it manually when doing WC.

It dosn't poison my fish so i think got to wait for the wood to "die" over the time. Just hope it don't grow leave on the bogwood ..

Stanchung, what is bromine anyway ?

Bromine is a halon, an element in between chlorine and iodine on the periodic table .

I've had some kind of gel like stuff and fungus coming out from the bogwood. It doesn't bother the fish or plants and will stop after awhile. You can try siphoning it off.
