I had recently purchased a couple of Tiger Lotus bubls, Nymphaea lotus, and have been having a problem getting the bulbs to sprout. I could use any help and tips. I have had good luck with plants but have never tried to grow from a bulb. Most all info I have states very little about bulbs and refers mostly to after the plant is growing.

    Thank you very much

    Hi,
For Tiger Lotus, try to plant the bulb close to the surface. Not too deep into the gravel.

I faced the same problem when I first try the Tiger lotus, but after I pull the bulbs close to the surface, it sprout like no tomorrow. Typically 1 leaf every 3 days.

If it gets a little white fluffy spot on it, is it fungus and should you remove it from the tank??

Also I have seen that there is a definite direction for planting them. Something about an eye like a potatoe? Can anyone help??
