Interesting prespective. However, the actual effect is not quite what you have in mind. At best, if your control of the depth of field is superb, you can blur out the 1 cm just before the back wall.

Actually, if all you want is DOF effect, why not consider using the toy train effect? Do a search in CS, I remember someone mentioning steps to editing the picture using Photoshop.
yah.. but have to wait for tank to mature a bit more before shoot.. just wondering out loud some ideas.
There's a DOF Calculator which may be of help.
A telephoto and wide angle lens both at same aperture would give different results at the same distance, right?
