I've got a healthy bunch of hairgrass growing in my apisto tank.. the growth rate is really good and there are new leaves every 2 or 3 days..

i was watching some of the roots that i could see from the side of the tank and realised that some runners were in there.. and they seem to have lost all sence of direction.

Look at the picture to see what i mean.

Is this a common problem? What is going to happen to those runners?
    are they going to rot?
why does this happen? Is there any way i can help these runners to reach the surface?

    any help is appreciated.

Don't worry. Nature will find a way to get out of a stick.
Remember the caterpillar who is helped to escape from its cocoon story? And in the end still die because of the intervention?

It normal, I don't think the runner lost sense of direction. It is because it close to glass thus it receiving light and grow.

Yup, the hairgrass will find its way out soon. No need to intervene and no cause for any worries.
