Hi all, here a picture of the Cryptocoryne minima .
Not all Cryptocoryne minima will have bullated leave. it seen to be depend on the many condition. Rightfully you should be able to get bullated leave with good substract, fert and water condition.

It the same to all crypt growing.

i not sure if difficult. So far so good. As for cryptocoryne it depend how you grow it, submerse or emmerse.

    Nice plant!!

I have a strain of minima from Sumatra quite bullated.

    C. minima is one of the most easy black-water crypts to grow emersed.

At the moment i m trying to stablise my group of C. minima.

Trying some in emmerse and they are still green. Do not think i am able to get red bullated in submerse form, but will try.

I also grow some in emmerse culture but it seen that the leave are turning green , but adapting well.

Will update again once there much improvement.

Nice plant TS and Xema. there was a rescus operation over here recently of a minima habitat. Wish I was free to go and help.

I read somewhere that the red on the underside of the leaves happens in very low light conditions?

Hi Stan, You can said so but i believe that it due to the nutrient.

As from what i have grow in my emmerse culture, i manage to get 2 to flower so far. And those that come originally with some redness leave. still manage to grow new leave with redness. but not so obvious red as compare to the old leave.
it will need alot of experience to know the cause.

The reddish at the bottom of the leaf caused by several issues. Nutrient inside the water play a main role. 2nd is the lighting. 3rd is the water current. You will surprise to see that. There are million of minima inside that pond and stream. Some under shady are greenish and some are reddish. But those under direct sun light are reddish top or bottom.
