    Hi folks,

Like to know whether we can cut away roots off-shooting from a plant's internode, particularly Egenia densa. Find them unsightly when they branch out so thick and so high above the substrate.

Actually my personal guess is that the roots are trying to reach for the fertile substrate. i used to have Cabomba and H. difformis and they does this too. Even if you leave plants not planted and floating on the surface, they quicly develop roots and try to reach for the bottom.
Wonder if this is some kind of plant reflex?
