About 2 times bigger.. but even if they were same size.. the pattern is different.
I have both species..but hold them in different tanks..
ilumnae - There used to be a time when all the supposedly "A. riesei" that came in were pale and garnet looking... now recently seen a batch at biotope that is truely quite red indeed... i believe the garnet ones might be a different fish or a variant..but can never confirm leh..
Sorry for digressing.. I thought Choy already IDed them as A. stigmatias?

Found a description and picture of a tetra that looks a little like this fish,
apart from the colours looking a little washed out, it does have similar markings on the caudal fin.

its hard to say, the photo has too much blue and interferes with the coloration. also JJphoto has a poor track record of getting the correct ID.

they are sold as headlight glow tetra at polyart....i bought some of them last week 3 for $1
I love my fishes.
That's a different fish. Those are Hemigrammus ocellifer (head and tail light tetra).
