Live/frozen food like tubifex, brine shrimp and blood worm are readily taken. I don't think it will take to dry food, as gobies are generally very difficult to be weaned on dry food.
wad what should i feed for my "pond goby"? not sure if its a pond goby but it look quite alike to the pond goby i see in the guide to freshwater fishes of singapore. may provide the picture if i have the time. by the way, this fish is caught in bishan park

Is this the one in your tank?
If it is, it is possible to get them to take to pellet food.
I fed them with Tetrabits before.
Then should be the same fish. Under normal aquarium lighting condition, they don't look like what you see in the picture in terms of colouration.
Yup. Mould will grow on fish food if uneaten.
it look quite alike to the pic but its colour is rather dull.do they eat algae or mosquito larvaes
i have a emergency. i do not have any live or frozen fish food ,so wad what can i get. wondering if they eat any live insects or something.

a packet of 30c tubifex worm should do the trick!
Cheers,
Andrew
They are not algae eaters. They will probably eat insects, but don't think from the water surface, so you may need to "sink" the insects.
problems had been solved.friend bring me go serangoon north buy tubifex worm give the fish eat.
Eh this fish will eat about anything it can fit into its mouth.
They're also shrimp killers...
my pond goby is not eating anything now even tubifex. XnsdVd said that they eat shrimps but i have a riceland prawn and they are living in harmony
Try dropping the tubifex right in front of them. Or try frozen bloodworm.
Riceland prawn? Do you mean the feeder/glass shrimps?
As mentioned, the pond gobies will probably eat something that fit their mouths, including shrimps. If too big, they may leave them alone.
And if these are feeder/glass shrimps that aren't too small in size, they can be nasty with their pincers, so I think they are probably more than capable of defending themselves.
Actually it might be a case of stressed fish. Specky, can you show us a photo of your tank? Are there any plants? How big is it? What's the pH? what's the kH? Temperature?
My marbled goby (soon hock) takes to the canned freezed dried shrimps sold in some LFS, i think the brand is New-G or something, price is quite cheap too. I just have to pick the ones out that is small enough for it's mouth.
Its probably not eating the tubifex because it is already full? I will usually drop a bunch of tubifex whenever i purchase them and it usually last for a few days... but i can see the cluster of tubifex getting smaller daily.
Mark
this morning i tried to feed it with tubifex and it eat it.i think it must be bloated the last few days and i do not keep the fish in a tank a keep it in those tortoise plastic tank as there is only one only
In that case your fish is probably very stressed. Drop a thin layer of substrate in if possible. Pond Gobies actually camouflage themselves with sand. Also, throw in some low light plants like moss or java ferns to give the little guy a place to hide and to absorb the ammonia/nitrates he'll produce.
Try not to overfeed these gobies with tubifex. They will take anything that moves, as long as it's smaller than than their mouth. Brine shrimp should get them eating as well.
Like XnS says, they prefer a sand bottom. So a thin layer will do.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
my fish very greedy even eat ants
I catch plenty of these using chicken liver as baits.
where do you catch them? i think i caught the same species using bread as bait before. but then some 'pro' looking person came along and told me that it is flathead?!the place i caught them at is freshwater i think or brackish.
