    Hi folks,

Like to know if anyone ever change water without leaving it to stand overnight to get rid of chlorine and chloromine?

I have been changing my water (1/3 of tank) without leaving it to stand. That was when I had only 1 cory and 1 sucker catfish and there was no harm done. Now that I have more fishes, 2 of rams, otos, SAE and some shrimps, I think it might be wise to do so.

But I have this presumption that some chlorine in the tank may be beneficial, especially in killing some of the unwanted pest and invertebrates, and some algae too. Can I have a second opinion on this?

I have a 2ft and 5ft tank and I changed 20-30% of the water straight from the tap. No anti-chlorine added at all. Both plants and fishes are fine.
