One of the characins without the adipose fin.
Thought it was some uncommon fish when I first saw it until someone told it is sold very cheaply at Seaview (as usual).
Heard that it is a fin nipper though.

this fish normally has constantly flared fins, how come yours so sad-looking?

I suspect it must be a solo specimen. Hence the 'sad' look.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

I actually have 4 specimen in the tank. But there is one dominant one which chases the rest all around. Don't know why also.

I think the LFS name for it is 'Lemon Tetra'.

This fish IS a nipper. I can tell you that much. Kept nipping the fins of my rummynose tetras. It is a nice-looking characin, but not one I'd keep for now.

I agree. Even own species already nip like crazy. Can imagine putting with other fishes.

They are now by themselves in a betta barrack.

To me, its really a very 'naughty' fish. Caused my other tetras to exercise till they die... especially when the group of silver tetra is rather large. They're fine when there's only about 5% of the tank population. Very bad and expensive experience with them when at 1st I didn't know they're the cause of my other fish's sudden death.
