I have an Indian puffer which used to pluck my riccia. Wondering if it's a good idea to keep it in my new set up where I have HC and hair grass.

I presume that the Indian puffer you are referring to are the dwarf/Malabar puffers?

Pluck your riccia? I think they are merely picking at potential food among the riccia, they aren't herbivores and they don't mess with plants.

Do read more on the requirements of the dwarf puffers. See this thread where there is a link with lots of information on the dwarf puffers.

As a summary, dwarf puffers mostly require live/frozen food, not easily weaned on dry food and may nip at fins of fishes due to their territorial and curious nature. If you are thinking of housing them in a community tank, be aware of their requirements and behaviors.
