    The pressure might not be sufficient to overcome some check valves, especially when the mixture has aged.

    BTW, check valves only prevent back flow. It does not prevent yeast mixture from getting into the tank.

    The other way is to have a bubble bottle between the tank and the yeast bottle.

    I get the stringy algae thing in my CO2 reactor too, even though I'm using a canister. It shoudl be harmless... just ugly.
