I know I might sound like a country pumpkin... but yeah, I finally got my very very first digital camera...

Tank photography was one of the factors that pulled me into this hobby initially and now I finally get a chance to try out... This is one of my better shots after taking like 20+++++++ tries... Please give your comments so I can improve. Thank you. Disclaimer: I'm a complete photography noob and this is the first time I'm learning to tweak manual controls.

Due to the limitations of my camera, I can only control either the aperture or the shuttle speed (but not both). So I would like to ask whether which is more important in tank photography: the shuttle speed or the aperture?
Who made up all these rules?

    Believe 'em to be true.
Don't care to think 'em through.

    Looks very clean and good.
As the sensor of a digital point and shoot camera is small, aperture for tank photography is not very important as you can achieve a high DOF even at low aperture.

So shooting tanks, it is more important to have fast shutter speeds so that you can freeze the motion of the fishes. Else you see streaks across the tank.

But then again, fast shutter means more light needed or bumping up your ISO. As long as your camera handles high ISO without introducing too much noise, it is not a problem.
