    Hi all

Was wondering whether this is a disease... I just noticed a white dot on the head of my A Agassizzi Tefe. The fish is growing well though, now that the dorsal fin is longer than the tail....

Not sure whether this is the hole-in-the-head disease....

    Any advice?

Could it be white spot? Sometimes white spot/itch don't appear as an army. Mine used to have a couple of white spots on the head but they've recovered already. I treated them with itch medication.

Yup. It's Hexamita. Better start treatment early.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

The male fish is currently co-sharing with my female and fries in a 1 ft cube tank. He is separated by a divider.

Should I take it out and put in a small hospital tank? The only tank I have is a 15 cm (L) X 12cm (B) X 17 cm (H) tank. It's an empty tank with no water now. Can i add the old tank water (without gravel) and put an air stone in there and then add medication?

I just bought the JBL medication. called JBL Spirohexol. It contains 2-amino-5-nitrothiazol 100 mg...

Does anyone has experience with this medication?

Never encountered this disease before, so never used before.

Googling around and found this review, http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/jbl...w-vt12345.html

Seems to be effective, but may deplete the dissolved oxygen. Most medicines normally do that, so I too think it may be a good idea to include more aeration.

    Good luck.

Yup.. went to that post before....

I have placed the male in to an empty tank, added the old water from the its own tank. I placed an airstone in there and will buy a sponge filter later...

So far the fish is ok.... but white dot stiil there... will wait until the 7th day...
