I am in the midst of setting up a new tank which i intend to keep low tech and without CO2 injection or fertilization. However, I was thinking of using Excel for CO2 and some initial doses of fertilization to boost the growth of plants to a certain point before stopping and putting the fauna in.

will this cause algae problems when i totally stop the dosing of excel and fertilizers?

I don't dose at all if I know I am going low tech.
