Just got some Clown Killifish/Rocket Panchax. Put them in a small tank like those used to keep Betta. However, some of them seems a bit faded compare to the others. Also two of them stay absolutely motionless. Is this normal?

Also, does anybody has any experience keeping them? Would appreciate some comments/advice.

In a bare tank, Killifish is like that one lah. My notho Korthausae also like that and still lay eggs

Thanks! I thought my fish like the T shirts I bought from Thailand. All "lose color" after I come home!

put some floating plants like Salvinia with them. They will feel more secure and be more active.

Thanks! I'll look for them tomorrow. But would that be difficult to change water cos Salvina is like duckweed? How about any other stem plants in a bare tank?

any floating plant except duckieweed is easy to handle. anyway you are not changing 100% of the water every time, right? If you have plants and the tank isn't crowded, a 50% change every two weeks should be good enuf.

benny, i used to keep them and they're shy fish. the males will display to one another and they're beauties. add some frogbits or salvinia with them. works wonders. get some plants for the lower levels and u'll see them becoming less shy. get some safe tankmates like cory cats and they'll move around more. by the way, they seem to only feed from the surface so try to find some floating foods or pellets that are tiny in size cos these guys have really tiny mouths.[]

Here are some pictures. They are really very shy. Have added gravel and will add some plants this weekend.

At least their colors are coming back.
