    Any suggestions on trimming B.Japonica?

Do you just cut the tips off like mowing a lawn? Mine are getting a bit long....

Eggz, is your B japonica leaves reaching the water surface? If not, its OK to leave the plant alone. Fishes like to swim amongst the leaves.

    long is ok
too bushy is not very good
crap tends to get accumulated inside
what i do is to pull them ALL up and separate them, and then replant them individually
usually this results in excess plants

Hi, actually my B Japonica isn't even close to the surface, it's just that I'm using them for the forground and would like to maintain that lawn look....too long and it'll start to spoil my look!

I thin them out by cutting off excess branches. The remaining parent plant, I try to plunge it deeper into the substrate. Or I remove the parent plant and replace with on of its branches.
