keith, Sturisomatichthys Leightoni or commonly known as Dwarf Royal Tig Catfish. They're excellent algae eater ! check it out !

It seems that the males are identified by their cheek bristles. And they guard the adhesive eggs which are sometimes laid on the sides of the aquarium. Hatching can take 8-10 days, depending on water temp.

Another name I found for this fish is Royal/Hifin Whiptail (Sturisoma panamense) Max size 25cm. Is this the same??

Have been advised by the book that this is a nocturnal fish and a 'moonlight' fluoro tube would do it well... Water should be neutral, or slightly acidic and soft to moderate hard.

It's a Sturisoma panamense. I remember the guys like to call it a helicopter fish too. The Clementi shop used to sell them for $35 a piece, I think.
