I have read similar threads in here but I still can not pin point the problem.

the case is this my cherries are slowly but surely dying off slowly. seems like falling sick something like that.

at first I thought the problem was the water however I scoop up 2 dying cherries and place them in a container with the same tank water. (did not want the dead bodies to dirty the water further) however believe it anot. this morning both are alive and kicking swimming around happily in the container looking for food.....

can someone please tell me whats wrong?

Could you provide more info, eg, how big is the tank , temp, filteration, any co-inhabitants etc... better if you can provide a picture of the tank.

I keep cherries and they are known to be quite hardly, if you have a filter, do a check to see if it's clogged , or contamination by some dead shrimps stuck in the filter...., does the water smell?
    ...I love rubies too ...

Either the water is bad or cherries are hungry.

Short of testing your water, I don't think it is conclusive that water quality is not a problem. Remember that your tank has other things, gravel, fishes, plants, filtration, driftwood/rocks or something else, while your container, I presume contains nothing but the water.

The information on your tank isn't quite enough to eliminate anything. Some other information needed:

    1. Is it a planted tank? Any CO2 injection?
    2. What is the gravel used and brand? Any driftwood/rocks?
    3. Any fertilisers/additives and their brands?
    4. What is the filter media used? Brands?
    5. How long was the tank cycled before introducing the shrimps?
    6. What is the water change frequency and how much are the changes?
    7. Any readings of kH, gH, NH4, NO2, NO3?
    8. If planted tank, list the plants.
    9. What is the last major changes that you have done prior to this? Rescape? Water changes? New introductions into the tank?

More details would be helpful in order for anyone to help you diagnose the issue. Otherwise, there are just too many possibilities and anyone could just be looking for a needle in the haystack.

Hi, bro Fei Miao suggested that dead shrimp body in the filter could be the culprit. Just want to probe more into this point.

Is this absolutely very bad for the water quality Sometimes, we can see dead shrimp bodies lying in the tank too. Wouldn't this be a worst situation? Since the BB in the filter should be directly attacking on the dead shrimp in the filter right? So dead shrimp in filter should not be worst then having dead shrimp in tank, right?

    Please share your opinion.

    Regards

When I first started with Cherries, it happened to me too. Certain percentage will not be able to make it. I did not do anything to the tank. I take it as those cannot make it is just not suitable for my tank.

Have you just introduced the shrimp into the tank or it just happaned suddenly?? Do take note too that the weather has been very hot lately and that can be a problem too.

Hi, could it be the guppies? The guppies could be disturbing the shrimps.

2 reasons , Might be your guppies attacking it or your water parameter is bad . So is your shrimps improving now ?
